Research interest My general research interests are in the population genetics of species of conservation concern and the impact that a changing climate has on these species. I will be studying the patterns of genetic variation across the historical range of the American chestnut. The ultimate goal is to study how genetic variation is related to variation in climate across the range and use this information to develop a conservation and breeding strategy for the species.
